Material testing and identification

Do you need to confirm the identity of a suspect material or identify differences in similar materials? Is there a contamination issue in your manufacturing supply chain? Developing an automotive part or material that requires unbiased independent testing?

A client evidenced failure of rollers due to contamination in a manufacturing setting. Absolute labs was able to identify the source of the contamination utilizing microscopy, pyrolysis gas chromatography,  FTIR drifts, ICAPES, and gravimetric methods. The source of contamination was from the breakdown of a nylon part upstream. The nylon filler content was found to be greater than specified which was causing premature failure and collecting on the downstream rollers.

Absolute labs has identified many types of materials including paints, polymers, steel, metal, alloy, consumer products, chemicals, cleaners, adhesives, corrosion identification, corrosion resistance testing, and more.

Absolute Labs team of chemists can efficiently help you meet your research, design and production criteria. With advanced instrumentation for all your chemical and mechanical needs, your just a few clicks away from answers to your most pressing questions.

Absolute Labs has been proudly serving manufacturing and automotive suppliers with material testing and identification of foreign materials over the past three decades. Our scientific acumen has directly translated into improvements in automotive manufacturing on and offshore, quality control and assurance, vehicle lightweighting and enhanced automotive parts.

Accurately identifying issues in the early stages can save a tremendous amount of time and capital downstream. Request a quote now by clicking here and a laboratory technician will promptly review your case and contact you with next steps.
